Today Pagani has pulled the covers off one of his most expensive serial products. And with Pagani this means something. Say hello to the super extreme Huayra Roadster BC, an open hypercar with a price tag of 3.1 million Euros. Before taxes, of course. Compared to the "normal" Huayra Roadster, almost everything here is new: engine, body, aerodynamics, chassis, exhaust - everything is different. And there is even more carbon.
The drive is provided by a 6.0-litre V12 from AMG, which in the BC produces 800 hp and 1,050 Nm of torque on the special Pirelli PZero Trofeo R rear tires. This is 36 hp and 50 Nm more than in the conventional roadster. The sequential 7-speed transmission comes also in this case from the British supplier Xtrac. According to Pagani, it is 35 percent lighter than a dual clutch transmission. It thus contributes to the fact that the Roadster BC weighs only 1,250 kilos when dry (in addition to countless other development tricks).
Like the BC Coupé, the convertible is based on a titanium-carbon monocoque with a steel subframe. Brembo's carbon-ceramic brakes have 6-piston calipers and 398 mm discs at the front, and 4-piston calipers and 380 mm discs at the rear. The BC Roadster stands on 20 and 21-inch wheels with 265 and 355 mm tires.
Visually, it largely follows the Huayra BC Coupé. This means an even more sweeping front spoiler with lateral carbon fiber patches, a modified rear diffuser and a generous, fixed rear wing. In addition there are wheel arch ventilation gills and more massive side air intakes.
According to Pagani the car generates up to 1.9G lateral acceleration. A Bugatti Chiron, for example, achieves 1.5G. The sports car manufacturer does not name an official 0-100 km/h time, but the 3.0 seconds of the coupé should also be reached here.
The northern Italian hardcore roadster could celebrate its first public appearance as early as next month at Monterey Car Week. Pagani will build 40 of the car. Despite the exorbitant price - how could it be otherwise - all have already been sold.
